Lago Vista Golf Course is a Semi-Private 18-hole golf course located in Lago Vista, Texas.
The course opened for play in 1971 as a 9-hole layout designed by Leon Howard Dave Bennett. The course originally opened as to help promote lot sales in the young, unincorporated neighborhoods that make up the city of Lago Vista today. Shortly thereafter, under the guidance of course designer Leon Howard, the course was renovated and expanded to 18 holes and operated as a private country club until the mid-1990s. Today, all golfers are welcome to enjoy the undulating fairways, lake views, and wildlife at Lago Vista Golf Course. The course was built on hilly terrain and its back nine has narrow fairways. Water comes into play on three holes.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,579 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,122 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 2, a par-5 that plays to 563 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 12, a par-3 that plays to 199 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 15, a 544-yard par-5 challenge, and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 9, a 377- yard par-4.

City took over the Lago course almost 3 years ago in 2008. Nothng but improvements since then. Lots of improvements to fairways, rough, and especialy the greens. Awesome round of golf

Great challenge, some easy holes and some very difficult, par 3's are too long

Good hilly layout. Greens in better good shape. Course will be bought by the City of Lago Vista in mid-June which should be a positive development. There are lots of out-of-bounds on this course with homes along several fairways. I would gladly play here again.

Interesting course. Priced right, nothing special about it although there are some nice views of the lake and plenty of deer on the course (we counted 60 the Sunday we played). The fairways and greens were in good shape, not great. Plenty of opportunities to score, if you can avoid the numerous trees. 330 yard 9th hole is a great risk reward hole, if you drive it far over the trees on the right, you can chip to the green and have a chance for birdie. Too far right and your in someones backyard. Definitely worth a try!
